Описание к видео "BOMB" - This Canadian Sherman Was The Most Reliable Tank In WW2!

During WWII, about 50,000 Shermans were produced, and they exemplified an exceptional combination of mobility, armour, firepower, reliability, and ease of construction.

If there was an example of a well-designed machine that was also quite reliable, it was the M4 Sherman, particularly "Bomb," a Canadian Sherman.

Bomb was an M4A2 Sherman tank, a diesel-powered Sherman version produced at General Motors' Fisher Tank Arsenal in Michigan. The vehicle was assigned to the 27th Armoured Regiment Sherbrooke Fusiliers after arriving in Britain, and was soon to be part of the D-Day invasion.

Bomb landed at D-Day and fought across northwest Europe until the end of World War II, one of the few Canadian tanks that fought without interruption from D-Day to VE Day.

By VE Day, Bomb had shot 6,000 rounds in battle, had survived two enemy shell hits, and seen many crew members come and go, while never missing a day of combat.
