Introduction 0:00

Australia's Longest Shortcut 01:49

We hit the dirt road crossing the border from Queensland into the Northern Territory and then onto the Plenty Highway. Bad conditions cause us some tyre problems along the way to Alice Springs. After a rest in Alice we head towards the centre staying overnight at Curtain Springs Station.

Kata Tujta (The Olga's)/The Valley of the Winds 05:49

We head out early to the Kata Tjuta Dunes Viewing area to witness a spectacular sunrise from Uluru casting onto the Olga's. We head into Kata Tjuta to hike the spectacular Valley of the Winds and Walpa Gorge before returning to the Ayers Rock Caravan Park.

Field of Light & Outback Bush Tucker 15:10

An art installation by Bruce Munro of 50,000 cables with stemmed LED lights is a spectacle to witness. We follow up the next day with a bushtucker demonstration, sampling Australian Desert Bush foods!

Uluru (Ayer's Rock) Circumnavigation 20:56

We arrive at Uluru for an amazing sunset at Australia's most famous rock before circumnavigating it's 9.4km Circumference spotting native birds and learning about the indigenous history and importance of the Rock to the local Anangu people. We then head to Kings Canyon Resort for the evening coupled with a breathtaking sunset.

Kings Canyon Rim Walk 30:45

Set in Watarrka National Park we undertake what may potentially be the best day hike in the Red Centre. The Rim walk starts with a steady climb to a high plateau through a city of Beehive like dome structures reaching a jaw dropping sheer cliff. We wander down through the gorge spotting wildlife amongst the ancient Cycad's. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

Redbank Gorge (West MacDonnell Ranges) 39:27

We head out on the unsealed Mereenie Loop Road through private Aboriginal Lands, sighting Willy Willy's or Dust Devils (Whirlwinds) along the way. We walk down into the gorge before setting up camp by the fire for the evening.

In the next episode.. 42:07

Join us on our next Adventure as we Explore the West MacDonnell Ranges and head into Alice Springs. We head north up the Simpson highway to the Top End via the Devil's Marbles, Bitter Springs and Nitmiluk before arriving into Kakadu, for a Wildlife spectacle unique to this part of the World!
