Jurt Hydroponics is an Icelandic company that was established to produce quality hard to grow plants using advanced technologies and sustainable resources. Our growing process is powered by renewable energy, nurtured with pure Icelandic water, and is continually being improved upon using modern engineering methods. Jurt Hydroponics specializes in ecologically sustainable food production using greenhouse hydroponics; the process of growing plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in water solvent where the roots are either exposed or supported by an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel. We only use organic growing mediums.

Our greenhouses are among the most technologically advanced in Europe. Advanced computer systems control heat, brightness, humidity, and are in charge of watering our plants with specific nutrients, with times and quantities based on environmental data. Jurt agrees with the Nordic Food Manifesto—where the emphasis is on purity, freshness, and simplicity—and has labored over every step of the growing process to ensure that the process meets sustainable industry standards from start to finish.
