A lot of people who have an introverted preference really hate small talk, and I used to really hate it too. You know how it is? How was your weekend? How was the weather?

So I like to ask deep, meaningful questions. I like to learn about the core of who a person is much more so than just that superficial small talk. So I try to play a game with myself to see how quickly I can get someone to move out of small talk into conversations that are more meaningful. Because at the end of the day, small talk is really that bridge that helps us get from being strangers or being people who don't really know each other very well, to potentially being a really good friend or connection or relationship in the future.
