The first thing that you see when you click on the Freshchat customer messenger is Topics (Message Channels). Think of Topics like an IVR for messaging. As a business, you can use these to route chats quickly to the right team like Billing, Support or even Sales and as an end user, it makes it very simple to connect with the right team immediately

How do you set up Topics?

P.S: You should have already created Groups to create Topics

1. Log in to Freshchat
2. Go to Settings
3. Select Topics
4. Click on the button that says “+ Topic” and give it a name and an icon and a welcome text
5. Select the group to which the chats are going to be routed to

You can make certain Topics hidden for a few pages or only for logged in users, trigger bots in these topics depending on your Business Hours, etc

Provide the right context to your prospects and customers using Topics
