Our team is redeveloping 72 acres of the Portsmouth Marine Terminal for use as an offshore wind staging port for the largest offshore wind energy project of its kind in the U.S. Congratulations to our team for completing the first major milestone recently celebrated with city and state officials.

“We are very happy to have delivered this first of three wharfs safely and on time, finding opportunities for efficiency and sustainability along the way,” said Tom Fulton, senior vice president, Skanska. “This would not have been possible without the true partnership that exists between Dominion, Port of Virginia, Jacobs, Moffatt & Nichol and Skanska. Together we’ve been able to roll up our sleeves and solve problems in real time while also investing in local business and strengthening the local workforce. We appreciate Governor Youngkin’s vision to reinvigorate job growth and make Virginia the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

To complete Phase 1, the team turned over more than half of the 72 acres following 156 36" square concrete piles driven, 4 million pounds of reinforced steel installed, 3,100-CY of concrete poured, and 150,000 tons of dense graded aggregate placed.
