The Story of the lost Scarborough South Bay Pool

Scarborough South Bay Pool in North Yorkshire was once one of Scarborough’s main tourist attractions. The pool was one of many masterpieces designed by Scarborough’s former Borough Engineer, Harry Smith. In this video I cover the creation of the pool all the way through to its demise in the 1980s.

Scarborough was, and still is, one of the UK's most visited holiday destinations. It's also able to boast being Britain's first seaside resort and for the best part of a century, the South Bay Pool was one of its key attractions.
