Phoenix new horizon is a worker placement eurogame that takes place after a nuclear winter. With new regenerator technology, humanity is now ready to go back to the surface. To do so, we will send commandos (meeples) on task (level 1 to 4), or upgrade them to make a better action, at the cost of some fuel. This different tasks will help build regenerators, buildings, get mission (contracts on type and localisation to build in), technologies. A lot of things unlocked a lot of bonuses. The twist is in the worker placement, when chosing a path will decide for an action now but also orient future choices and strategy.

I just read the rules of this game, and it seems really attractive to me. Ok, I always want to try heavy (but not so heavy ?) worker placement euro games. Some element in it remind me of Barrage, it seems to include some interresting interaction and scoring seems nice too. I want to try that when it will be realease at Essen Spiel 2024 !
