Adapting to a UNEXPECTED morning of woodland photography

When I had first though of visiting this unknown (to me) trail I had anticipated there to be a viewpoint from the top of the hill that would overlook the gorgeous islands of Wolastoq giving me a beautiful scene to photograph sunrise. Well, that is not what happened. I should have done more research (but where is the fun in that) and if I had even looked at the first result online or in a guide book I’m sure I would have realized that this trail leads to the summit of a hill, that funnily enough is an ancient volcano, and is fully surrounded by old growth forests and does not offer any views of Wolastoq.

Once I saw firsthand how dense the forest was at the top of the hill, I realized that I would not have any views of the sun rise and I quickly adapted try and capture some woodland photographs.
