ABC10 shooting suspect faces felony charges from Sacramento DA
The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday it will pursue felony charges against the suspect accused of firing into ABC10’s newsroom lobby. Authorities say Anibal Hernandez-Santana opened fire on the station Friday afternoon while employees were inside, though no one was injured. District Attorney Thien Ho said charges include firing into an inhabited dwelling and assault with a semi-automatic gun, with a firearm-use allegation that carries a maximum penalty of 17 years in prison. Ho called the attack “an assault on the free press” and requested Hernandez-Santana be held without bail.
