A lovely walk from the Church Of Charlton-All-Saints along the River Avon and on to Standlynch Chapel in the grounds of Trafalgar Park in the village of Downton in Wiltshire. Formerly a Medieval Church and rebuilt in 1677.
Standlynch Chapel is the final resting place for members of Lord Nelson’s family. There are seven graves in the graveyard and tombs inside the chapel.
Sadly it’s now padlocked and boarded up but people still smash their way into this historic building. If you want to take a look inside there are videos here on YouTube.
