With a ton of amazingly splashy trailers and a huge amount of buzz, the recent release of The Predator couldn’t have come any sooner. Fans were skeptical at first about this 2018 updated classic, but were quickly blown away by the impressive redesigned and reimagined aliens from galaxies far, far away. With a totally stacked cast that includes Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn, the adorable Jacob Tremblay, Boyd Holbrook, Moonlight’s Trevante Rhodes, Keegan Michael-Key, and more, this movie was bound to be full of awesome actions and tons of super cool one liners. But no matter how much a movie is set for success, there are always a few things that stick out to some fans as a little bit confusing. Like how does The Predator just lose the gauntlet that it has strapped to its arm in the very beginning? And, if it actually means to help save the human race, why did it wake up and go on a murderous rampage right off the bat? The Ultimate Predator’s ship seems to be powered by the same remote device that controls the escape pod, so is all of their technology interchangeable? How have they not improved their invisibility by now too? We lose track of where we are in the third act, and even the Hellhounds have some inconsistencies. Why did they make Quinn ride with The Loonies, and how on earth is a biologist such a totally badass fighter like the character of Casey is? Despite these questions, The Predator is still a feast for the eyes, and a great time at the movies.
