Tyler Winklevoss bought a ticket to space with bitcoin which is presently worth $3.1 million
In January, 2014, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss each spent 312.5 bitcoins whose value is at nearly $3.1 million as of today to buy a ticket to travel to the edge of space on Virgin Galactic. Tyler considers it a wrong decision and “won’t make that mistake again” as at the time each bitcoin valued at $800, 12.4 times less than its current value. The Winklevosses bought tickets on Virgin Galactic’s spacecraft because they saw an inspiring parallel between the innovation of bitcoin, in which they are major investors, and space travel.

Sun tweeted on June 16 that he was thrilled to invite Charlie, his good friend as the first guest at his lunch with Warren Buffett on July 25. According to CCN, Sun’s bid of $4.6 million dollar was the highest of the annual charity lunch and the location was moved from New York to San Francisco as Sun wanted to spotlight a local charity once supported by Buffett’s late wife.

Bitcoin and XRP aren’t competitors, said Ripple CEO
In a Fortune interview on June 20, Ripple CEO, Brad Garlinghouse held that bitcoin is a store of value or “digital gold,” while XRP is a “bridge currency” that enables an efficient solution for fiat-to-fiat transfers, so the two are definitely not competitors. He also cited that while a bitcoin transaction costs approximately $2.30 on average, Ripple can do a transaction for a tiny fraction of a cent. Garlinghouse stated “I own bitcoin, I'm long bitcoin. I think Bitcoin is a store of value and people hold it."

Price of Ether (ETH) surpassed $300
CoinMarketCap reported that ETH is changing hands at $304, representing 9.7 percent gains on a 24-hour basis and 129 percent gains on a year-to-date basis. Ether has doubled this year with the price currently reporting more than 260 percent attains on the low of $82.00 last December. However, the price is still down 78 percent from the record high of $1,431 registered in January 2018. Further, the cryptocurrency has retraced meager 16 percent of the sell-off from $1,431 to $82.

Bitmain is planning US IPO
It is said that Crypto mining hardware giant Bitmain Technologies Ltd. looks set to launch IPO in the US. Bloomberg reported that this world’s biggest manufacturer of crypto mining devices will submit documents to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in July. The preparations for the U.S. IPO are still in the early stages and are subject to change.
