Today marked the first of the four-day Motofest at Glen Helen Raceway, presented by Troy Lee Designs. Included in the event are a vintage bike show, a modern bike show, a Grand Prix, and three Stopwatch National Pro Races. All told, $100,000 is up for grabs in the three pro-class races: $30,000 in today's Open class event, and $35,000 in Saturday's 250 and 450 class races.
Twisted Tea Suzuki's Colt Nichols made quick work of the Open class today aboard his Suzuki RM-Z450, winning both motos to take home the $10,000 lion's share of the purse. Red Bull KTM's Julien Beaumer earned second overall, while Kawasaki Team Green's Enzo Temmerman bested many seasoned professionals to earn third overall.
