This Video captured the show in the night sky Sunday, September 27, 2015. The phenomena, which was visible in North and South America, Europe, Africa and parts of West Asia and the eastern Pacific, occurs when a total lunar eclipse coincides with a so-called supermoon -- a full moon that's at the closest point of its orbit to Earth, making it appear bigger and brighter than usual. Many also saw the moon bathed in a reddish glow -- a so-called "blood moon."

This video shows the supermoon eclipse over Iowa, the night of September 27-28, 2015. This phenomenon was last observed in 1982 and won't come again until 2033.
