Nigerians have called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to allow old and new Naira notes to co-exist as the battle to get new Naira notes becomes harder everyday.
Owing to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) declaration that the old N200, N500, and N1000 have ceased being legal tender since February 10, 2023, many Nigerians have been thrown into confusion.
Some Kaduna State residents in an interview with Legit TV, expressed disgust over the non-availability of cash in banking halls and ATMs, saying the situation was ruining economic activities.
A respondent lamented that they have to pay two thousand naira to POS agents before withdrawing ten thousand naira, which they described as "Buying of money."
Another respondent faults the scarcity of the new notes to the FG, saying that "the government introduced cashless policy and naira redesign to impose hardship on Nigerian."
