Flameouts, Face Plants, and Future Mod Plans: Honda CRF450L First Ride Off Road

My first ride on my brand new to me Honda CRF450L was an interesting experience. I wanted to see if the Honda CRF 450L was all it's cracked up to be, so the first thing I did on it was hit up some Honda CRF450L off road riding including some of my favorite local single track trails. Everything started well and I was impressed with the Honda CRF450RL off road performance, but it wasn't long before I ran into the infamous 450L flame out issue. I had 4 total flameouts on this trail riding adventure, and that's not a very encouraging sign for a bike with less than 1000 miles on it. I also had a little mishap and was able to scratch my first CRF 450RL crash off the list after the front end got sideways on me in some loose dirt. These stock tires are definitely going to have to go.

Speaking of new tires, the other thing we talk about in this video is all the future Honda CRF450L mods I'm planning to do to this bike to turn it into the ultimate BDR-killing light adventure bike but still retain the ability to do CRF450RL single track riding with ease.

All in all, I'm super stoked about the possibilities of this new dual sport motorcycle, but my 450L first ride off road left me with as many questions and concerns and it did answers and things to be excited about. Only time will tell, I guess.
