There is nothing worse than losing your pet, that’s why I cannot stress enough the importance of 1) ensuring your pets are micro-chipped 2) having a QR code ID tag, sticker, or collar. If your pet is found with a QR code ID tag, sticker, or collar, the finder can simply scan the QR code and get your contact information and return your pet immediately – no need for a chip scanner, or a lengthy process of posting flyers and social media posts. We are even encouraging the use of QR code tags and stickers on critters like tortoises (who are notoriously fast and great escape artists)! 🦺📱

Here’s some fresh alternatives to the overly processed, high-calorie, mass-produced commercially available pet treats you find in stores – Carrots, Cucumber, Apple, Banana, Peas, Berries (blue, cran, rasp., straw.), Cantaloupe, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Green Beans, and Spinach. Check with your veterinarian to get a complete list of acceptable fresh treats to feed your pet and do so in moderation. ⚖️🥕

If you do purchase pet treats, be sure to check the ingredients and stay away from any brand or product that lists BHA and BHT as preservatives. Recent studies show that BHA and BHT causes cancer in some animals and is now being banned in human foods…hopefully it will be banned in pet food/treats before long too. ❌🦴
