Скачать или смотреть HP tx1000 GPU Reflow with Rubbing Alcohol

I own an HP tx1000 tablet that slowly died, first losing its wifi and finally experiencing the "no video" failure. I gave up on the laptop months ago, but then saw some videos showing how to repair tx1000's and other HP laptops. Generally people reflowed the solder under the nvidia GPU with various heat sources. I liked the solution presented in this video:

but before I went out to buy a heat lamp, I found this page that shows how to reflow a chip on an old Mac iBook by burning rubbing alcohol:

I combined the two repairs: use alcohol for the reflow and penny to act as a shim, conducting heat from the GPU and to the heat sync. My tx1000 now appears to be revived, but there's still a chance it will fail again. In particular, I worry that the alcohol wasn't hot enough, so I may have to reflow it again by different means.
