Taken from the Channel 5 Movie Club presentation of "The Philadelphia Story" on independent station WNEW in New York.

WNEW and its Metromedia TV sisters were sold in 1986 to Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, who used them as the nucleus of the new Fox television network. Since the WNEW radio stations were sold to a separate company, the TV side was forced to change its call letters (as per FCC policy at the time) and became WNYW.
