The Conspiracy under Claudius Civilis was in its original form one of the most extraordinary works of Rembrandt. The original size of approximately 5.5 to 5.5 meters makes it his largest painting, larger than the Night Watch. Rembrandt painted the Claudius Civilis in 1661-1662 for the new Town Hall of Amsterdam, nowadays the Royal Palace Amsterdam.

Both the Night Watch as the Claudius Civilis have suffered the same fate and exist only in part. The remaining part of Rembrandt's Claudius Civilis is already more than 150 years in the National Museum in Stockholm and is now temporarily on show at the Late Rembrandt exhibition at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. To mark this occasion, a unique reconstruction of the complete Claudius Civilis is temporarily projected in the Royal Palace. The projection is on show from 12 February to 17 May
