Handling Your Model: Jaguar D-type at 1:8 scale

Explore the functionality of our Jaguar D-type model at 1:8 scale in our latest handling video. Every detail of XKD 505/601, held in Ralph Lauren's personal collection, underwent a detailed scan to produce an exact replica of his beautiful and unique car. Dressed in the iconic British Racing Green exterior paint scheme, this 1:8 scale model features an engine cover that can be lifted up, after careful undoing of the intricate leather buckle fastenings, to reveal the 3.4-litre straight-six XK cylinder engine, as well as the rear trunk with removable spare tire. The driver's door can be opened to allow greater inspection of the spartan racing interior, the passenger side cover can be lifted to unveil the unused passenger seat and detail of the car's exposed wiring, and a further cover located just behind the driver's seat can be lifted to reveal the fuel filler cap.

Models of XKD 505/601 are available exclusively from Ralph Lauren’s flagship stores worldwide. Models replicating the car exactly as raced to victory by Duncan Hamilton and Ivor Bueb in the 12 Hours of Reims at Reims-Gueux on the 30th of June 1956, are currently available to order at 1:8 and 1:18 scale on our website.
