The zwerchau is an entirely different cut from the crown cut, as Joachim Meyer describes it. A zwerchau doesn't utilize the kron, or crown, which Meyer describes as a holding of the crossguard/quillions in a near horizontal position out in front. The zwerchau is a "cross-wise" strike.
