🇵🇭🇺🇸 Filipino American visual artist #LouisDeGuzman has teamed up with BAIT and the iconic anime character, Astro Boy, on a new exhibit called #ATOMvsASTRO — now on view at BAIT’s Melrose location from November 11 to 24. Items from the special collection will be available to purchase next door at the BAIT Gift Shop.

De Guzman is based in Chicago, and he is known for creating artworks that blend both traditional and experimental techniques. His signature geometric abstract style often represent his family’s journey as immigrants, as well as his own experience as a second generation Fil-Am. His original works and interpretations of licensed characters are well-received and sought-after.

He describes his process as an inner battle that he has to fight every day, in order to gain new perspectives, or to see how much more he can go outside of the box. For De Guzman, there is always something new to see and learn, and we should always be looking for opportunities to maximize our potential.
