Announcing a brand new project collaboration by In A World Music Kids/The Nirks™ and Portland Columbia Symphony in response to the COVID-19 pandemic’s unrelenting toll on opportunities for early listeners to participate in the arts. This unique web-based series, “Meet the Instruments,” has been developed as both a way to engage elementary-aged children during the pandemic as well as provide employment opportunities for musicians from Portland Columbia Symphony. Her is Vincent to tell you more about it.

Hi! It’s me Vincent, from the Nirks™! I’d like to tell you about our very special new series called “Meet the Instruments!” We are so excited to be joining forces with Portland Columbia Symphony to bring you an up-close and personal look at a real, professional orchestra! Together we will explore all of the amazing, cool, and just plain weird instruments that make up a symphony orchestra. We will meet some incredible professional musicians from Portland Columbia Symphony and they’ll introduce us to their instruments and explain how they work. And, my friends and I will get the honor of playing along with these world class performers in a final concert piece at the end of the series! I’m so excited! Are you ready to meet some instruments?! We’ll be releasing our theme song “Meet the Instruments” on Friday March 12, 2021 on our parent channel - In A World Music Kids:    / inaworldmusickids   . After that, we’ll be uploading a new episode each Friday featuring a different instrument and another incredible musician! Once released, these videos will be up for all to see! A fun, educational and FREE series for children to watch in or out of the classroom. Here is a schedule of our episode releases.
