Sunset Glow over Gujo, Walking a Riverside Castle Town | Gifu, Japan 4K Ambience

Gujo is a nice little town with traditional wooden buildings along streets and alleys between the Yoshida River and under Gujo Hachiman Castle. I had planned to film a walk in a different traditional village but it turned out it closed to visitors at 5pm so I made a last minute decision to drive an hour to Gujo. I arrived about 30 minutes before sunset, just after a bit of afternoon rain, and began a somewhat unplanned walk down the traditional streets of the town.

As the sun began to set, I noticed an unusual reddish-orange glow in the air. You can see the color change on camera, and it was just as visible there in person. It actually was a bit almost distracting and made me forget what I was doing. I wanted to take a photo of the glow with the unique houses along the river so I rushed a bit, made a few hasty decisions on the route, and ultimately the glow had faded by the time I made it back to the riverside. Anyhow it is a beautiful town, amplified by the interesting conditions and early evening atmosphere. I hope you enjoy the walk : )
