Bajaj Dominar 400 is a street bike available at a starting price of Rs. 2,22,746 in India. It is available in only 1 variant and 2 colours. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by 373.3cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 39.42 bhp and a torque of 35 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Bajaj Dominar 400 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Dominar 400 bike weighs 193 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13 liters.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 offers the best value proposition at its price point, but improvements can always be made to a product. Keeping that in mind, Bajaj had gone ahead while updating the Dominar which had received a host of upgrades in 2019, that makes it a better product.
The motorcycle continued with the same design but received a few subtle updates in 2019 which give it a fresh appeal. It is available with the choice of two colour schemes- Aurora Green and Vine Black. In terms of equipment, it features a data-extensive instrument console providing host information to the rider along with a secondary display on the fuel tank.
It also gets premium-looking side mirrors, forged side stand and a double-barrel exhaust. In order to maximise the touring abilities, the 2019 Dominar comes with straps located beneath the pillion seat that can be used to mount luggage using bungee cords.
Coming to the mechanical upgrades, the motorcycle now features inverted front forks borrowed from the KTM range. And with that, it also gets a radial caliper for the braking system up front. The rear continues to sport a monoshock and a single disc for braking. Dual-channel ABS is standard.
Next is the motor. It’s the same 373.2cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected mill that comes with a DOHC configuration. This has allowed Bajaj to extract more power from the engine which now produces 39.4bhp of max power at 8650rpm and 35Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm. The kerb weight of the bike stands at 187kgs.
In its price segment, the Bajaj Dominar 400 competes against the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 250 Duke and Suzuki Gixxer 250.

KTM RC 390 is a sports bike available at a starting price of Rs. 3,12,460 in India. It is available in 2 variants and 3 colours with top variant price starting from Rs. 3,16,152. The KTM RC 390 is powered by 373.27cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 42.9 bhp and a torque of 37 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, KTM RC 390 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This RC 390 bike weighs 172 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13.7 liters.
The 2022 KTM RC390 has been launched in the Indian market to rival the likes of the TVS Apache RR 310 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
The mechanical specifications retain the BS6-compliant, 373cc state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine with twin overhead camshafts, four valves, and electronic fuel injection. The 2022 model gets a 40 per cent bigger airbox and new engine mapping that are aimed to increase torque and overall rideability. The power and torque output is rated at 42.9bhp and 35Nm, respectively.
The styling changes to the 2022 model include the addition of a single-pod LED headlight, revised bodywork, 13.7-litre fuel tank, and updated seat design. The updated feature list comprises full-LED lighting, Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, traction control system, lean-sensitive ABS, and quick-shifter as standard. The motorcycle will be offered in two colours – KTM Factory Racing Blue and KTM Orange.
Do note that unlike the international model, the India-spec KTM RC390 misses adjustable front suspension. Thus, the shock absorption tasks on the 2022 KTM RC390 are handled by WP-sourced upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The anchoring power comes from a 320mm disc at the front and a 280mm rotor at the back.
