Palace of the Dead is a Rouge-like dungeon that you can do for experience, gil, and a few cool items. Here are a few tips to make your experience in the palace a bit better.

Pomanders
• Pomanders are items that you can get from Golden Treasure Chests in PoTD. There are 16 different Pomanders that do things from Increase your defense to showing you the floor map.
• 3 most important Pomanders
○ Pomander of Purity - Removes Pox from Mimics
○ Pomander of Rage - Transforms into a Manticore for 60 secs
○ Pomander of Sight - Reveals the current floor's map, location of all Coffers and hidden traps.


Traps
• Traps are invisible unless revealed by something.
• You can avoid them though!
• Traps will not spawn in hallways or in the starting room
• Stay on the walls when moving through other rooms. Use ranged attacks to pull the enemies into a hallway or near the wall.

Coffers
• 3 types of chests
• Two of them can be traps
○ Golden Coffers - the only source of Pomanders - can turn into mimics
○ Silver Coffers - How you increase your aether pool and get stronger - can explode dealing 80% of your max HP


Full Clear vs Killing what you need
• In order to complete a floor you have to kill a certain amount of monsters. Then the question is, should you Full clear or Move to the next floor?
• Leveling in PoTD is separate from leveling in the rest of the game.
○ You level much quicker in PoTD and each monster you kill is much more impactful xp wise.
○ You want to stay ahead of the levels of the monsters you are fighting.
○ Starting at floor 1, definitely do full clears. Do that until you are ahead of the monster level. Then free feel to skip monsters and move through the floors.
○ Start at floor 51+- You are automatically leveled to 60. Even if it is a class you have never taken into PoTD. I would recommend only killing the monsters you need to and get through the floors as quickly as possible.
