"Just Give Me a Reason" was written as a collaborative effort between Pink (credited as Alecia Moore), Jeff Bhasker, and Nate Ruess (the lead singer of the band Fun). Originally intended to be a solo track for Pink’s sixth studio album, The Truth About Love, she eventually realized the song required a second perspective to function as a true conversation between lovers, leading to Ruess becoming a featured artist and co-writer. The track was produced by Bhasker and released in 2013. It became a massive critical and commercial success, earning two nominations at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
