New wines trend In this video where i bring you in a Trentino Region Revealed like you never knew before.
There there are lost grapes that you might not even herad about and you will be surprised.

We arrive in Valsugana, on the East of Trentino Valley near to Trento City.
Valsugana in a Valley that goes to Lagorai Mountain in Dolomites Unesco Heritage.

In this Valley long time agon there were a lot of vineyards and the vines surpace was a way more that what you have now.
Now the forest took place and so we still have just a little part of the original viticulture.

In this valle there is a village, SERSO, "Sers"in dialect, where still a community of people originally from Germany who very long ago came there to work in teh porphyry quarries. Coming there they brought everything related their own culture even locat and traditional grape. So that's why we have there some grapes originally from Germany sucj as Roter Vertliner, or Gruner Vertliner, or St. Lorenz.
but the very rarity there is a grape called VALDERBARA whichis cultivated only in Serso and no anywhere else in the world.
Also there is VERNAZA and of course Nosiola which is the very one famouse in Trentino.

Valderbara and Vernaza have very high acidity and low PH which allow them to be great ones for Sparckling wines (Metodo Classico).

Now there is a project to revaulate this terroir and its traditions and it started in 2002 with Simoni family from LaVis and fe local vinegrowers.
This project makes few wines and especially a metodo classico Brut Nature called Blanc de Sers. This wine is made by 40% of Valderbara, 40% of Vernaza, 20% of Nosiola.
Then a Rose' metodo classico called Roze'de Sers, made by 100% PAVANA grape. this grape was very common long ago in all the area and also in Veneto.

Then there is nother wine called again Blanc de Sers, but still and not sparckling. In this wine there is a blend of also Grunel Vertliner and Roter Vertliner.

Simoni Family takes a lot care of this project and try their best to preserve tradition, and natural enviroment there.
