Bury St Edmunds Suffolk England

Bury St Edmunds is a town in Suffolk, England. Archaeological excavations found that in this area was Bronze Age settlement. Later Saxons have been living in the area and founded first monastery in 633. In 903 Beodericsworth (Bury St Edmunds) became the burial place of the King Edmund - the first Patron Saint of England. Then, Benedictine Abbey was founded in 1020. Thus, this year the Abbey celebrates 1000-years birthday! Nowadays, it is English heritage site.
Also, Magna Carta is associated with the Abbey.
