I took two days off to try and win Runway’s 48-hour film challenge.
Saturday at 4pm I walked into a room alone and started creating.
The short film you are watching here was made entirely in just 48 hours.

I have done this before in what I now call real life filmmaking.
Back then, it was a team of 22 people working around the clock on a single short film.
This time, it was just me and a lot of software (plus my wife and the grandparents helping behind the scenes).

The difference is still hard to explain.
Being able to sit down and create a complete short film with story, characters, multiple locations, and almost no limit to imagination feels surreal.

In this film, I am the lead actor, the supporting actor, and pretty much every other character on screen, thanks to Runway’s Act Two.

This was not my first AI film, but it was the first time instinct took over.
Instead of figuring things out, I was simply applying everything I had learned.

Here are the two biggest lessons from this sprint:

Storytelling still matters most.
Tools will evolve, techniques will shift, but script, logic, and visual storytelling remain the foundation. If you know how to tell a story, you can learn anything else.

Make decisions under pressure.
At some point, you have to commit. If something breaks, you fix it fast or find another way. That pressure creates momentum.
