"Song For Her" was an unreleased song written by three members of the Spice Girls—Emma, Geri, and Mel B—in 2016 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of "Wannabe." Despite Victoria Beckham's clear decision not to rejoin the group, the other four members, including Mel C, discussed plans for a 20th-anniversary reunion. However, Mel C eventually left the project during the planning stage. As a result, Emma, Geri, and Mel B decided to continue as a trio.

The three remaining members returned to the studio and co-wrote two songs, "Song For Her" and "Still Got It," with long-time collaborator Elliot Kennedy. In July 2016, the trio launched a website and YouTube channel, rebranding themselves as GEM. Rumors circulated that Victoria Beckham was considering legal action to prevent the trio from performing as the Spice Girls, and the project dissolved before any formal releases were made.

In an interview with Red magazine, Geri revealed that she ultimately couldn't proceed without Mel C and Victoria. "I really pushed to get everyone back together," she said. "It got to the point where I just had to let it go."

In November 2016, the full demo of "Song For Her" leaked online. Speaking to Mail Online, Emma commented, “We wrote something and it got leaked and it got stolen, which is not great, but we’ve had nice feedback.”
