Pakistan's first electric tram arrives in Lahore 23rd july 2025.
Lahore is all set to welcome electric trams on its roads, introducing a major innovation in the city's public transport system. This marks a significant step forward after successful implementations of the Metro Bus, Orange Line Metro Train, Speedo feeder buses, and Electro Green electric buses.

The first electric tram, imported from China, has already arrived and is currently being assembled at Ali Town Depot. This modern tram is specially designed to operate without conventional rail tracks, making it more adaptable to urban infrastructure.

According to transport officials, the tram will initially run as a pilot project along Canal Road. A demonstration is planned for early August at the Lahore Expo Centre, where senior government officials and public transport experts will assess its performance and feasibility.

This new tram project is expected to improve eco-friendly transportation in Lahore while reducing traffic congestion and air pollution.
