An epic journey that hit an early challenge when their rudder broke just days in. Thankfully, a fellow sailor they met on SeaPeople Alec, towed them back to shore.. showing exactly the kind of connection our community was built for. Now back on course, we’re proud to highlight them in this month’s SeaPeople campaign celebrating badass waterwomen.

Miriam, originally from landlocked Yorkshire, made headlines by solo-rowing the Atlantic in record time in 2022. With a Physics degree and a childhood spent on a farm, she found her calling in the outdoors after climbing Kilimanjaro in college.

Jess, from Hampshire, is an adventurer through and through.. she’s crossed the Atlantic, cycled across Spain, climbed Mount Kenya, and worked for years on yachts and superyachts, gaining deep respect for the ocean’s power.
