Relaxing Watercolor 🌵 that time she fell in the cactus patch. It is hard to paint a cactus without remembering that time (or two) I fell into a cactus patch. Sharing more than just art but some painted memories. Often times before taking on a serious painting I will do a loose study like this, sketching, playing, painting, color mixing... All trying to catch the vibe. While this painting was great fun I do want to try it again, (will save its story for that video) but wanted to share the progress, in real time as much as was recorded. Some parts my camera did not pick up, but love how it shares my sketching process (underhand and overhand) the use of tinted permanent masking fluid (my latest crush!) and how I painted the shadows and connected shapes first then overlaid with greens to complete. Some fun stencil lifting to finish. Hopefully some of my sleepy watercolor viewers will enjoy drifting off into their nap imagining their own stories of cactus patches. Sweet dreams friends!
