專訪蔣勳老師 An Interview with Professor Chiang Xun

蔣勳，1947年生於西安、成長於臺北的當代著名畫家、詩人與作家。以花卉、
水景繪畫廣受重視，其對美術教育之省思對大眾多所啟發。他畢業於中國文化
大學史學系和藝術研究所。於1972年到法國留學之前，曾於臺大國際華語研習
所之前身「美國各大學中國語文聯合研習所」任教。他曾擔任東海大學美術系
創系主任，並任教於多所大學。在繪畫創作之餘，蔣勳也在文學界勤勞耕耘，
他出版過多本小說、詩集、散文、藝術評論，並曾擔任台灣專業美術刊物《雄
獅美術》的主編及《聯合文學》社長。
Chiang Xun was born in 1947 in Xi-an, China and grew up in Taiwan. He is a well-
acclaimed contemporary painter, poet, and writer. His paintings of flowers and
water features are widely admired. His critical thoughts on arts education is
inspirational to the public. He graduated from the Department of History and
Graduate Institute of Art, Chinese Culture University. Before he studied abroad in
Paris, he taught at ICLP's predecessor -- Inter-University Program. He was the
founding Chair of the Department of Fine Arts, Tunghai University, and taught at
several universities in Taiwan. Apart from paintings, Chiang has published numerous
collections of poetry, novels, prose and art criticisms. He was editor-in-chief of Lion
Art, a professional arts publication in Taiwan, and head of Unitas Lifestyle.
