In battle shonen, time skips usually result in characters undergoing some pretty insane training and Boruto Uzumaki is no exception. In the three years between the end of boruto part 1 and boruto part 2, Boruto’s life was hell. On top of being a rogue ninja hunted by Konoha and hiding from Code’s army of ten tails soldiers, he spent the first year training underneath Sasuke who trained him so extensively that Boruto learned every jutsu and fighting style Sasuke possessed that didn’t require sharingan, so jutsu like the chidori were off limits. After Sasuke was defeated by Code and his ten tails army, Boruto spent the next two years training under Kashin Koji the clone cyborg of Jiraiya and during that time he made his own variation of the flying raijin jutsu, but he isn’t as good at it as Minato is, needing to concentrate hard to perform the jutsu. He also finished mastering Kakashi’s purple lightning jutsu, which he can now use as a projectile and run it through his sword like Sasuke does his chidori. Between battling Code and training with Sasuke and Koji, Boruto has surpassed Jigen in power with just his base which episode 204 showed how strong Jigen was!
