The absurd drama of the 28-point Peace Plan for Ukraine has been an unmitigated disaster of US foreign policy. At every turn, we’ve dropped the ball, lied about it, and used every dirty rule in the book to try to pressure Ukraine, firmly stepping on our own feet in the process.

Who are the people sent to “negotiate” the end to a war that Trump said he’d solve in a day? Are they equipped to do the job set out for them, or winging it as they go? Are their own intentions clear, or do they have ulterior motives that we (and the State Department) don’t necessarily know about?
