Soprano Choir Practice: “The Heavens are telling the glory of God” from Haydn’s “The Creation” (Die Schöpfung) . It was the first large-scale work in musical history to be published with bilingual text (English and German). Haydn assigns the narrative passages to three soloists portraying the archangels Gabriel (soprano), Uriel (tenor) and Raphael (bass). The trio, along with the chorus, sing "The Heavens are telling", a paraphrase of Psalm 19, and is probably the most familiar music from "The Creation".
