Everything Everything - Cough Cough (Split-Screen Cover)

Everything Everything has long been one of my favorite bands. Their blend of pop and indie rock, with an underlying theme of strong musicianship caught my attention when I first heard this song 4 years ago. Conner Green (bassist in the video) introduced me to the group and I've been hooked on them since. A few years back I thought it'd be fun to cover this tune, and now it's finally complete!

Finding the right musicians for this was a bit of a challenge. It took a few different singers to find someone who could really nail the parts, and I feel that Miles Burke did the song justice. Some of the parts were recorded years ago (Conner's bass and Liam's guitars). The synths were all programmed by my brother, Carter. They were actually the first part of this to come together. My drums and Miles' vocals weren't recorded until this past semester, as my previous attempts at recording them at home never had the right sonic qualities. Having access to a big drum room was important to me in order to achieve a similar sound to the original version. The opportunity to complete this project came up this past semester at school when doing my Capstone Project with fellow audio and video students.

I'm really proud of the musicians who I was lucky enough to collaborate on this. A huge thanks to them for their time and effort in making this something special.
