This video shows you how to use the install tool kit for the MerCruiser Alpha One Gen II outdrive to install the drive shaft bellows retaining ring.
The retaining ring goes on the outside of the housing on the boat side but gets mounted onto the inside of the gimble housing and is clamped in with a retaining ring that is made out of the cheapest and flimsiest material ever.
I bent one retaining ring, tried using lubricants, the right shaped tools and hammers, none of the other methods on YouTube worked for me until I devised this method of using the tool kit as a press.
