We kick off “Trainspotting” by visiting a dear friend whose idea this was.

The MARC Camden Line links Union Station in Washington, DC with Orioles Park at the former Camden Yards in Downtown Baltimore. I call it “the train to Grandma’s” because of the feeling it elicits.

Using tracks now owned by CSX, the Camden Line descends from the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, and is the oldest American passenger rail line still in operation. The route spans 39 miles, and has been in operation since 1830. Speeds range between 30 and just over 70 miles per hour due to various restrictions. The MARC Camden Line is a weekday-only route, as is the Brunswick Line, with round-trips taking place during morning and afternoon commutes with up to 12 stops.

Special thanks to the entire crew.

The Travel Series™ is a collection of ambient videos focusing on commercial aviation and passenger rail. “Birdwatching” explores aircraft types, similarly with “Trainspotting.” Footage may be extracted into hours-long ambiences called “Vibes."
