On February 9, 2025, acting upon specific input, a team comprising ACP Anil Sharma, Inspector Pankaj, Sub-Inspectors Vikas Deep and Ram Kishan, Head Constables Sanwar, Amit, and Ajit was formed under the supervision of Ms. Apoorva Gupta, DCP, Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Crime Branch, Delhi. Information was received regarding the movements of a suspected drug trafficker identified as Faheem Farooq aged 37 years, r/o Amar Colony, Lal Bazar, Srinagar, J&K. A trap was laid, leading to successful apprehension of Faheem. From his possession, 996 grams of high-grade Afghan origin heroin was recovered. Following procedural formalities under the law, a subsequent search was conducted at his rented accommodation in Bhogal, Delhi, where a cash amount of Rs. 1,65,000/- was recovered. He admitted the cash was earned from drug trafficking activities. During sustained interrogation, Faheem disclosed that he was an active member of a well-organized heroin distribution cartel. He named his supplier as Shazia, r/o Telbal, Srinagar, J&K, currently residing in Bhogal, Jangpura, Delhi. He further confessed that Shazia, introduced him to a drug supplier known by the name of Harry, referred to as a "Punjab Operator." Shazia provided him Harry’s contact details. Following her instructions, Faheem established contact with Harry as and when deliveries have to be received. Faheem further disclosed that on February 3, 2025, he collected 1 kg of heroin from Harry at Sukhdev Dhaba, located in Murthal, Sonipat, Haryana. Each time, after collecting the deliveries, the narcotics and the dedicated mobile handset were handed over to Shazia, who would pay Rs. 50,000/- per delivery in exchange. On 09.04.2025, Faheem was en route to deliver heroin to a contact at Jal Vihar Road, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, as directed by Shazia.
