Introducing OncoK9®, the Early Cancer Detection Test for Dogs

𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄.

Defeating cancer starts with knowing your dog has it. People get mammograms, colonoscopies, and other cancer screening tests to help detect cancer early. Now, our dogs have OncoK9, a cancer screening test developed just for them, ushering in a new era of preventive care for pets.

Just like in people, cancer screening should be an important part of preventive care in dogs; the goal is to look for cancer when your pet is feeling well, before they start to show any clinical signs. During wellness visits, your veterinarian may look for early signs of cancer in your dog by performing a thorough physical exam and asking you about any concerning observations. Your veterinarian may also perform routine blood and imaging tests, and may recommend OncoK9 — a new blood test that could detect cancer before your dog shows any clinical signs.

When veterinarians identify clinical signs or other clinical findings that may lead them to suspect cancer, they may choose to prescribe OncoK9 as part of their clinical workup as an aid-in-diagnosis. It can be used when your vet suspects cancer, but it’s in a hard-to-reach location for sampling. It can also be used when it’s possible your dog has cancer, but its location isn’t apparent.

The OncoK9 liquid biopsy test uses a simple blood draw to detect abnormal DNA released into circulation by cancer cells. OncoK9 is available at most veterinary clinics in the United States and Canada.
