LIRR: Friday Memorial Day Weekend Rush Hour at Sayville Ft.

Описание к видео LIRR: Friday Memorial Day Weekend Rush Hour at Sayville Ft.

Went to Sayville on the Friday before Memorial Day with avasic1995, Kevico24railfan, and Lucas to see the Cannonball's 2017 inaugural run. Note that WB Train #2743 hit an unauthorized person on the tracks just west of the station near Cherry Ave. Because of this, the rush was really messed up. Service was suspended in both directions between Babylon and Patchogue for about an 1.25 hours from ~2:45-4:00 PM. Hence, everything was backed up for quite some time starting with EB #2770 and lasting through Summer Extra EB #9708. Because I was extremely exhausted from having to wake up to go to work early in the morning and given that everything was moving really slow, I left Sayville after the Cannonball. I was originally planning on staying until EB #2720.

NOTES:
~EB #2770 was approximately 80 minutes late
~EB #2708 "Advance Cannonball" was approx. 83 minutes late
~EB #2772 was approx. 27 minutes late
~EB #9708 was approx. 31 minutes late
~EB #2798 "Cannonball Express" was surprisingly only a few minutes behind schedule.
~These late arrivals are with respect to Y interlocking.
~Note that off in the distance in the shots of the eastbound trains, you can see #2743 stopped near Cherry Ave. and a multitude of people (police & emergency personnel) standing around the tracks.
~WB #2745 was cancelled, but the equipment from EB #2736 still had to come back west, and it did, right as the Cannonball was coming through -___-. The equipment first stopped at the station (not sure why). Next, the Cannonball came through. The crew couldn't get the railroad gates for Greeley Ave. to lift up, so the next clip you see is of the equipment deadhead being moved slightly backwards so the gates could be raised. The final clip of the video is of the deadhead finally departing. However, there's a bit of confusion because before the deadhead came, there were people waiting on the platform, and then after it left, those peopled were gone. So maybe it did accept passengers??

2.) WB Train #2743 from Speonk to Jamaica with C3 5013/DE30AC 415.
3.) EB Train #2770 from Babylon to Patchogue with DE30AC 407/C3 5011.

6.) EB Train #9708 from Jamaica to Montauk with DE30AC 411/C3 5009. This train runs only on Friday, May 26th, Friday June 30th, and Friday, September 1st. This train can be thought of as a relief train for EB #2708 due to the high volume of passengers traveling on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day Weekends.
7.) WB Eq. #2736 Eq. Deadhead (At least I thought it was a deadhead) with DM30AC 517/515. Note that this equipment would have been used for WB #2745 if #2745 hadn't been cancelled.
8.) EB Train #2798 "Cannonball Express" from Penn Station to Montauk with DM30AC 500/506.
