VCV RACK AMBIENT PATCH - LFO INSTEAD OF ADSR

In this example we patch an LFO (sine waveform) to the VCA control input. The LFO rate to creates volume fluctuations. This can be similar to a rhythmic decay followed by a sustained level with an ADSR.

While LFOs (Low-Frequency Oscillators) and ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) generators are both essential modules in VCV Rack, they serve different purposes. However, in some situations, you can creatively use an LFO as a substitute for specific aspects of an ADSR envelope.

An ADSR envelope generator creates a control voltage signal with four stages. An LFO generates a constantly oscillating control voltage signal. It can have various waveforms (sine, triangle, square, etc.) and adjustable frequency (how fast it cycles).
