(17 Jun 2016) Ahmed Abdel-Aziz Ithar is an Iraqi soldier currently battling the Islamic State (IS) militants in Fallujah.
His brother Saad was one of hundreds of Iraqi soldiers who died in June last year when IS militants carried out a mass killing of soldiers captured when the extremists overran a military base north of Baghdad.
The incident at Camp Speicher, an air base that previously served as a US military facility, was one of the worst atrocities perpetrated by IS as it seized large swaths of northern and western Iraq.
Ithar says he saw a video posted by IS showing his brother as one of the many hundreds of victims in the attack.
However, today the 27-year-old says he isn't fighting IS group for revenge.
Instead he wants to combat extremists across his country and chase them out.
Ithar himself has been injured four times in previous battles that took place in Amirli, Ramadi and Fallujah.
Mass graves have been discovered across Iraq in territory taken back from IS militants.
