CaLV-1, a Reusable Rocket Flight Test | Kerbal Space Program

Описание к видео CaLV-1, a Reusable Rocket Flight Test | Kerbal Space Program

After the success of Boomerrang-1, the subsequent launch vehicle, Codenamed "Project Orbiter," had some big boots to fill. A need to be fully reusable, with cargo delivery to planetary surfaces in mind, meant some radical design decisions had to be made. The upperstage, or "Orbiter" went through a successful (in the long run) series of flight tests, the "Suborbiter Campaign." With Suborbiter SO21 successfully demonstrating a complex multi-phased method for ascent and landing, a first stage ready to fly, and SO22 retrofit for orbital flight, Project Orbiter is ready to hit the launch market! Well, so long as it can deploy a payload... and if the new names don't confuse the investors too much.

Getting very distracted by how much fun Kerbal Space Program still is after all these years, challenged myself to design a Starship knockoff that felt original-ish, the control scheme isn't perfect, but it really was fun to design over the last few days.

...alright time to get back to that MPE update...
