This is actually a merged video between building two backup throwing axes, but it just shows my basic process. I didn't try too hard to make them pretty, but you can! I really only focus on the specific dimensions of the grip portion, total weight right at 2lb, and CG.

If you ever go for this build, remember that this wood is very low density and light. Any heavier hard wood will shift the center of gravity down below the blade, which is not ideal.
